We, the students from all Universities in North Macedonia call for strong student assemblies, improved student standards, and transparent, quality higher education. Universities exist for the benefit of students and must align with their evolving needs.

This resolution demonstrates the students’ commitment to actively participate in addressing pressing issues and having their voices heard in decision-making processes at all levels.

This resolution is presented in the following areas:

  • Student Rights and Student Standard

We call on Members of the Parliament to unequivocally support the incorporation of the Student Right Charter into the Law of High Education, expediting its consideration through the parliamentary procedure by the end of 2025.

  • Digitalization of the Services in Public Universities

We urge universities to embrace digitalization by fully adopting the e-index and phasing out the hard-copy index by the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.

  • Financing of Higher Education

We call the Ministry of Education and Science and other related institutions to prepare a strategic and action plan by the end of 2024 on how to increase fundings for education. The % of GDP intended for education should be increased periodically to assure a more qualitative education.

  • Quality Education

We demand external evaluation of universities by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education to drive improvement and assess standards.
